Thieves cut cat off car

A PIECE of car equipment was stolen from a Morpeth business at the weekend.

At 5.45am on Sunday, offenders used some type of power tool to cut the catalytic converter worth £242 from a black Ford Focus vehicle which was at the T Thompson and Sons garage in Low Stanners.

They then stored it in some nearby bushes along the edge of the riverbank and returned to collect it at 10.30am the same day.

It is believed that when they collected the item, they left in a blue van with a partial registration of N66 or something similar.

Any witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Morpeth police on 03456 043043.
