Cyclists collide with tractor

Two cyclists were taken to hospital after they collided with a tractor in Whorral Bank, Morpeth, on Tuesday afternoon.

The tractor overturned and the road was partially closed when emergency services arrived.

Diversions were in place for vehicles that wanted to go into Morpeth while the casualties were being dealt with and the tractor was removed. Both men were taken to the Northumbria hospital, near Cramlington. One had a broken leg and the other had minor injuries. Witnesses are asked to call police on 101, reference 709 of 19/04/16.
