Dancing clogged at the Hepscott WI

Hepscott Village Hall resounded to the sound of clattering clogs at the WI’s September meeting.

Guest speaker Anne Walton has been clog dancing since she was 18 and won many competitions. She teaches the Clock Tower Cloggies group, and is in great demand for workshops and demonstrations. She began with an interesting talk about the history of clog dancing and made everyone laugh with her entertaining anecdotes. She then produced her small travelling stage, and to our amazement it was made of glass — shatterproof, so don’t be fooled into thinking you can dance on your coffee table. We sat enthralled as she demonstrated steps and dance routines. At the next meeting on October 21, the focus will be on the First World War. It will be Members’ Night. Visitors welcome.
