Time is running out to apply for a proxy vote for the General Election.
Anyone who will be away from home for voting on Thursday, May 7, or who is unable to get to a polling station, could use their proxy to enable a friend or relative to vote on their behalf.
However, the deadline for applications is 5pm on Tuesday.
Northumberland County Council Electoral Services Manager Angus Taylor said: “We are fortunate to live in a democracy, we all have the right to vote and we should all try to use it.
“We urge those who are unable to attend a polling station on May 7 to still exercise their right to vote by taking advantage of the proxy system.
“It only takes a few minutes to apply so even if you’re heading off on holiday, or if you are unable to attend your local polling station on polling day, you can still have your vote.”
