THE final term was a busy one at Acklington C of E First School.

Pupils of all ages enjoyed a fun-packed programme of learning and activities.

Highlights included welcoming the area’s new vicar, the Rev Mike Dent, who was Guest of Honour, along with his friend Norman the Toucan, at the school sports day and garden party.

The school also launched a new toddler group, known as the Acklington 321 Zeros, which meets in Acklington Village Hall every Tuesday during term time, from 1pm to 2.30pm.

The group has been a huge success since its launch and has been supported by the Rotary Club of Amble and Warkworth, which helped with start-up costs.
