A RECRUITMENT drive is under way to find 150 young people for a challenging summer learning experience.
Groundwork North East is offering the places in the National Citizen Service programme, which aims to get young people involved in their community while giving them skills and confidence to prepare for the competitive jobs market.
The 16-year-olds taking part in the Groundwork challenge will participate in two residentials, where they will take part in outward bound activities, learn to cook and live away from home, gain skills and confidence and make new friends.
They will then be expected to use their new-found talents to create a project that will help their local community.
