CHILDREN at a Widdrington school have taken part in two appeals to help those less fortunate.

Activities such as spotty dressing, cake making and games were carried out by Grange View First School pupils for Children in Need. They raised a total of £236.50.

And with support from staff, parents and friends of the school, they put together a number of shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

The toys and useful everyday items were part of the mid-Northumberland collection that was sent out to Romania.
