HIGH school pupils have offered their support to a former student as she prepares for a gruelling charity trek.

Morpeth’s King Edward VI School has donated £100 to former pupil Charlotte Christensen, who is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music.

The money will go towards Miss Christensen’s trek to Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar this month in aid of Child Reach International.

She has to raise a total of £2,450 for the trip, with £1,250 going direct to the charity to support projects in Nepal, where it works to support and educate parents of children with learning disabilities, dispel prejudice, raise awareness and help children with learning disabilities to lead more independent lives.

As well as the trek, Miss Christensen will take part in various charity works, including music therapy sessions.
