There was double results delight for twins Rachel and Sarah Patterson.
The King Edward VI School students have notched up a string of top A-Level grades between them.
Rachel, who got two A*s and an A, will be heading to Durham University to study English literature.
Meanwhile, Sarah achieved an A*, two As and a B and will study history and archeology at Newcastle.
She said: “I’m very happy. I didn’t think the results were going to be as good as this.
“Rachel and I did different subjects, but for English we studied together and I think it helped.”
Rachel added: “We each got the results separately, but we’re pleased that we both did well.
“We have helped each other and our family are very happy.”
