LONDON’S calling for a Ponteland teenager after she posted an outstanding set of A-Level results.

Chloe Hall was awarded A*s for biology, maths and physics and an A in chemistry. She will now study medicine at University College London (UCL).

The Darras Hall resident said: “I couldn’t log on to the UCAS website beforehand, so I had to wait until opening the envelope before I knew whether or not I had achieved the grades I needed to get on my first choice degree course.

“I was happy and relieved and it made all the long hours revising worthwhile.

“I can’t wait to start university. The course is a good mixture of practical and theory work and I’m looking forward to carrying out some dissections.

“I’ve played for Morpeth Hockey Club’s ladies section and I would like to be part of a university team.

“I’ll also see what other clubs there are at UCL during freshers week.”

Poppy Robson will start an English literature and history degree at the University of Edinburgh next month after receiving A grades for those two subjects and biology.

The 18-year-old was nervous about finding out her results because she needed three As to get on the course.

“With English literature you can’t be sure how well the exams went, so I was thrilled to get an A,” she added.

“I’m grateful to my parents for putting up with my stress during the exams period, all my teachers for their help and my friends and my boyfriend for their support.

“I enjoy studying English and history because there are different interpretations of texts so you can have interesting discussions and debates.

“I live in the countryside, so I’m looking forward to life in a big city.”
