A GROUP of Morpeth teenagers have talked their way into the UK final of an international contest.

The team from King Edward VI School were crowned winners along with Durham Johnston School in the North East Regional Youth Forum Debating Competition at Durham Town Hall.

It covered some topical issues that impact the lives of young people and the judges were impressed with the KEVI students’ speeches and their questions to the other teams.

Jeremy Turner, Greg Waddell, Michael Moult, Remi Junges-Stainthorpe, Tom Savage, Tristan Selden, Billy Mole and Becky Tait will go to Liverpool in July for the final.
