Pupils at Belsay First School have been producing some eye-catching art pieces after a team of staff, led by Linda Jackson, secured £1,500 in funding from the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle.

Children in Years 3 and 4 visited the gallery and did some works based on a Weeping Woman exhibit with support from Anne Fountain and Morgan Fail.

They also made clay 3D models with assistance from Carolyn Handley, formerly of The Yard Studio in Belsay.
