SUPER student Jonathan Winfield has shown his star quality in more ways than one.
The King Edward VI School (KEVI) pupil has already made his mark as a community champion.
And now he has achieved a run of ten straight A* grades and one A* with distinction in his GCSE exams.
The student, who lives in Morpeth, was delighted with his outstanding results.
“I couldn’t have done any better,” he said.
“It is just down to hard work. I thought two years ago that I was going to do the best I could do and that is what I have done.”
Jonathan has managed to balance his academic work perfectly with school community projects and extra curricula activities, such as taking part in a cryptography challenge, organising the sound for school productions and helping local middle schools with an international project.
There are many other examples to explain why Jonathan was a worthy winner of the Contribution To School Life Award.
He said: “I just think it is important to enjoy school life, as well as get good results. At the moment I’m able to balance the two so I will continue to do that for as long as I can.”
Another KEVI student achieving a straight run of 11 A* grades was Yasmine Shafiq.
However, due to a holiday she was unable to collect them in person.
