Two former professional footballers came to Morpeth to teach youngsters about the dangers of racism.

Trevor Benjamin, who played for Leicester City and Coventry City among other clubs, and Richard Offiong, his clubs included Doncaster Rovers and Carlisle United, went along to Chantry Middle School and Technology College for a day on behalf of Show Racism the Red Card.

The anti-racism educational charity was established in January 1996. It utilises the high-profile status of football and football players to help tackle racism in society.

As well as some workshops, there were some football and ‘fitness fun’ sessions.
