A MORPETH school is celebrating after retaining a top national accolade for the third time.

Once again, the inspector from Arts Council England was impressed with Stobhillgate First School’s dedication to music, drama, dance, and art and it has now received another Artsmark Gold award.

Pupils have a go at a range of styles and staff run a number of fun and informative projects in all of these areas each school year.

Headteacher Neil Richmond said: “We’re all delighted to retain this prestigious award, which we first received in 2004.

“When interviewed by the inspector, the children were really vociferous about all the arts activities they enjoy at school.”
