Elderly man dies after collapsing in Rothbury town centre

Emergency services were called to Front Street around 10am but were unable to save him.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.55am to a patient that had collapsed and became unconscious on the Front Street in Rothbury.

Hide Ad"CPR was in progress on scene and we dispatched two double crewed ambulances, a specialist paramedic and a clinical care manager.”
A Northumbria Police spokesperson added: “At 10.05am we were alerted by the ambulance service to a man who was suffering a medical episode on Front Street, Rothbury.
“Emergency services attended the scene but sadly the man – in his 80s - was confirmed as deceased. His next of kin have been informed.
“There was no third party involvement and a report will be made for the coroner.”
