MORPETH is going all out to retain its crown as the best of the bunch in Northumbria In Bloom.

Last year, the team took the prize for Best Overall Entry, as well as retaining its Best Town title.

Now organisers are hoping to repeat the success and the bid got firmly under way on Monday when judges were shown around to rate environmental work, sustainable planting, displays and community input.

They will return for summer judging.
