A WILDLIFE expert will be bringing her skills to Druridge Bay as she settles into a new role.
Catherine Taylor, 25, has been appointed Assistant Ecologist to EcoNorth, the consultancy service of Northumberland Wildlife Trust.
And part of her role will be to undertake a large habitat mapping project at Druridge Bay.
The initiative, which is funded by the Coal and Coast Project, will use surveys and aerial photographs collected by remote controlled aircraft to create a complete habitat inventory of the area.
It will make use of EcoNorth’s Geographic Information System and expert wildlife knowledge to help determine future habitat improvement needs.
Ms Taylor graduated from Newcastle University with an MSc in Wildlife Conservation and Habitat Management.
Prior to her new post, she was part of the Durham Biodiversity Data Service.
