Estate walk will raise funds for good cause

County residents are being urged to enter The Big Walk for Children’s Cancer in the grounds of Blagdon Estate on Saturday.

The activity will raise vital money for the North of England Children’s Cancer Research (NECCR) fund.

It is a six-mile route and dogs on leads are welcome. Entry is £10 for adults and free for under 10s.

NECCR event organiser Tony Gilroy said: “The day is not only about the walk. There is plenty more on offer including refreshments, whilst medical experts will be on hand to explain how the research works and what progress is being made.”

Participants will be joined by esteemed author and friend of the charity Bill Bryson.

The White Bull gates at Blagdon Estate open at 9.30am and the walk starts at 11am prompt. For more information about the activity, visit www.childrenscancerrun.co.uk/CancerWalk
