The Morpeth branch of the Mothers’ Union is inviting residents to an evening to celebrate women’s achievements next week.

The event, which includes a short service and a presentation by Steve Tash on female farmers in Africa, is being held to mark the 90th birthday of the Queen (patron of the Mothers’ Union) and Mary Sumner, founder of the international Christian membership charity that celebrates its 140th anniversary this year.

It will take place in St James’ Church on Thursday, April 21 from 7pm.
