A MORPETH youth organisation is on the lookout for a new leader.
The present Captain of the 1st Morpeth Boys’ Brigade Kevin Purdy, who has been associated with the Morpeth Company for 35 years, has decided to step down from the voluntary role.
The organisation aims to care for and challenge young people for life through informal education underpinned by the Christian faith, ranging from ages six to 18 in four sections.
There is a continuous balanced programme of sports, crafts, visits and activities along with working for badges.
The church has the responsibility of filling the position and Rev Jeremy Cooper of the Morpeth Parish said: “We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with experience of youth work and a Christian commitment to lead the company and build on the successes for the future.
“Under Mr Purdy, the Morpeth company now has a very good number of youngsters.”
Application is by letter to the Parish Office and the closing date is the end of tomorrow. Those interested in the position can find out more by emailing JeremyLCooper@aol.com
