PUPILS at two Morpeth schools finally got the chance to see the new Pegswood Fire Station.

Some of the visits by groups of students at Chantry and Newminster Middle Schools and Technology Colleges had to be postponed before Christmas because of the snow.

But last week, those who missed out were able to try out some of the facilities and appliances at the station operated by Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service.

The trips were organised by Morpeth Extended Services after it received funding from the Safer and Stronger Communities Fund, allocated by the Northumberland North Area Local Multi Agency Problem Solving (LMAPS) group.
