A BID to stockpile pulverised fuel ash on the edge of Widdrington is set for approval.
The application has been made by Active Leisure Resorts to create a landform for a dry ski slope.
The facility would be one of a number of leisure schemes in the Blue Sky Forest regeneration plan for the area, but the wider application is not likely to be submitted until later in the year.
The fuel ash plans are recommended for approval, despite objections from Ulgham, Tritlington and West Chevington, Widdrington Village and Widdrington Station and Stobswood parish councils over dust, noise, water pollution and the proximity to dwellings. Three letters of support have also been submitted.
The county council will consider the bid on Tuesday.
