THERE was plenty of fun and games to be had as villagers enjoyed a community knees-up.
The Stobswood and Widdrington Community Fun Day took place on Sunday, offering football, cricket, boxing demonstrations, sumo wrestling and family sports, as well as refreshments.
More than £1,500 was raised for village sports teams and residents Stewart Neave and Barry Kelly boosted the total by raising £600 in a sponsored bike ride from Edinburgh to Stobswood.
Organiser Charlotte Townsley said: “It was absolutely fantastic. At 12.55pm, just before it started, the sun was shining down and most of the community came along. It was such a good day and everybody enjoyed everything that was going on.”
