A FIREFIGHTERS’ family fun day has raised almost £4,000 for good causes.
The county event, which was held at Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service’s West Hartford headquarters, offered demonstrations, children’s inflatables, swings and a driving simulator, as well as a firefighter challenge that gave members of the public an opportunity to test their skills.
The fire service collected £3,890 at the event, which will be split between the Firefighers’ Charity and the Princess Ellie Trust.
Acting Chief Fire Officer Alex Bennett said: “The event was a great success and we’re pleased that so many people chose to come along and support our fund-raising efforts.
“The day took place at our new community fire station and headquarters in West Hartford, so it was a good opportunity for members of the public to take a look at this state-of-the-art facility.”
