A FAMILY fun day has raised more than £1,000 for a charity to help North East children.
The event was organised by Kids 1st and Helen McArdle Care, which runs Foxton Court residential home in Morpeth, in support of The Children’s Foundation.
Staff and their families, as well as people who have relatives in Helen McArdle homes, were invited to join the festivities at Newcastle Racecourse, which included fairground rides, live music, Irish dancing, magic tricks, craft stalls, and even an appearance by Olympic torchbearer Neil Weir.
A total of £1,273 was raised.
Helen McArdle said: “The family fun day was a great opportunity for staff to let their hair down and have a good time with friends, family and colleagues.”
