A COMMUNITY support scheme is giving food for thought to high school students.

Pupils at King Edward VI School have pledged their support for the Wansbeck Food Bank, which provides emergency food parcels for families and individuals in Morpeth, Ashington and surrounding areas.

The school will hold various events for the project, as well as organise regular collections of tins and other non-perishable food to pass on.

Students have already shown their generosity, with tutor group 9I making the largest donation so far. Other particularly supportive students are Harriet Grace, of Year 9, Rachel Donaldson of Year 10, and Ricky Thompson and Miriam Inverarity, who are both in Year 13.
