Families are being invited to an exciting event that is a festive first for Ponteland Rotary Club.
A plethora of items will be available at the Christmas Market, which will be in place at Ponteland High School on Saturday between noon and 5pm.
There will be stalls and displays both indoors and outdoors and a range of refreshments will also be available.
The gifts and goods that can be purchased include Christmas cards, stationery, books, hand-made toys, beauty products, jewellery, scarfs, dog gifts, prints and balloons.
Ponteland Rotary President Steve Cox said: “It is fabulous that we can offer the families of Ponteland this wonderful, varied programme.
“I think it will help everyone to get into the spirit of Christmas and, of course, the proceeds from the event will go to support local charities.”
Santa will be at the market in his grotto and he will have some helpers to take good care of little ones who want to tell him what they would really like to have for Christmas.
Clare Stagg, who heads the satellite group within Ponteland Rotary, said: “I am sure this will prove to be a fun-filled day for all the family.
“We have live entertainment that includes some traditional festive music and we also have some appealing rides and activities, which I am sure children of different age groups will really enjoy.”
“We are very grateful to headteacher Kieran McGrane and his team at Ponteland High School for providing such a good central venue for the event.”
