THE search for Miss Northumberland 2012 hots up next week.
Girls aged between 17 and 24 are being urged to enter the competition’s first heat, which takes place at The Joiners Arms in Newton-by-the-Sea on Wednesday.
This year’s final will be held at Newton Hall, at Newton-by-the-Sea, on Friday, June 29, and 24 finalists will be given the chance to parade the catwalk.
The winner will follow in the footsteps of current Miss Northumberland Laura Hickey, as well as receiving a modelling contract with the newly-established Glamrus Model Agency, a host of other prizes, and will go on to compete in next year’s Miss England contest.
The Miss Northumberland 2012 competition comes on the back of last year’s successful inaugural event, and organisers One Voice Productions have once again teamed up with media partner Northeast Press, which includes the Herald.
The competition is in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice.
Northumberland-based Rhinox, specialists in sports and fitness supplements, is the partner sponsor for Miss Northumberland 2012.
The company’s managing director, Mark Chapman, said: “Rhinox will work with the successful winner of Miss Northumberland throughout her reign to provide support and key advice to maintain and promote her fitness and nutritional goals.”
