Dozens of people took advantage of an opportunity to see the work that has been carried out at a Morpeth church.

The interior of the community room extension at St Aidan’s Church in Stobhill will soon be complete.

On Saturday, the church served refreshments and a strawberry tea in the afternoon to residents and various groups and organisations had stalls to help bring in funds for white goods, equipment and furniture in the new building (phase three).

Among those in attendance was the Assistant Bishop of Newcastle, the Rt Revd Frank White.

More than £700 was raised for phase three and a further £100 was raised for the Mothers’ Union.
