Grants rejected

TWO grant requests have been rejected because they do not meet criteria.

Castle Morpeth Disability Association had applied for funds from Morpeth Town Council towards the cost of signage for vans for its handyman and gardening service.

However, it already receives a subsidy towards its core costs of around £3,000 a year from the council, which means under new rules it is not eligible for a grant.

Alnwick Playhouse was also turned down for support towards running costs as the grants are for services based in Morpeth, or serving a large number of its residents.
