IT’S hats off to villagers in Longhirst who have organised a fund-raising Easter Bazaar.

The event, in aid of St John’s Church, will feature a colourful display of Easter bonnets, made by children from the Tuesday evening Junior Club in the Village Hall.

They have also created a frieze for the wall.

The bazaar will include a range of table-top stalls, selling cakes and preserves, crafts, health products, cards and stationery, candles and the work of local artists, as well as a Traidcraft stall selling the Real Easter Egg – a fairly traded egg celebrating the real meaning of Easter.

Visitors will also be able to buy a copy of the Longhirst Recipe Book for £5.

Refreshments will be available, such as bacon and sausage butties, soup, scones, cakes and drinks.

The fair takes place in Longhirst Village Hall on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm. Entry is free.
