THIS month the members, family and supporters of the South East Northumberland M.S. Society gathered at Wingates Village Hall to enjoy a summer barbecue.
It rained, but the the barbecue was cooked underneath a gazebo and then served in the Village Hall.
As well as a great social evening in a beautiful setting, the members enjoyed free tuition from an experienced artist, Sarah Scott. Everyone took part and expressed themselves in the medium of watercolour.
Also present was Tracey Banks of Enhance Image Consultancy. This lady will tell you how to dress and which colour best suits you. She also has a mobile dress agency, which she brought with her, and the ladies enjoyed browsing through and buying from the collection.
Miss D Moore, holistic therapist, was unable to be with us due to sickness. She was also going to give free taster sessions of reflexology and Indian head massage.
There was also a Fairtrade stall with goods for sale from Tradecraft, Gateshead.
The South East Northumberland branch of the M.S. Society exists to support and enable all those who suffer from multiple sclerosis and also is a support group for their families.
The helpline is 01670 858939 for help and support and also signposting to other agencies. Newly diagnosed sufferers are more than welcome to ring this number and if not answered the Chairman of the group Mr John Sanderson will ring back as soon as is possible if a message is left.
