A PINK party in Pegswood has been hailed a success after raising more than £1,000 for breast cancer services.
The event was organised by cancer patient Kim Younger to thank those who have supported her.
And when it took place at Pegswood Ex-Services Club on Saturday there was a full house, with people arriving early to ensure they could join in the fun.
Ms Younger said: “It was a really good night.
“The DJ was still setting up and there was no seats left in the place, and the raffle went on for over an hour because there was so much stuff that businesses had donated so I need to say a big thank you to them.
“So many people turned up and I’m really grateful for everyone’s support.”
The bulk of the cash will go to the oncology day unit at Wansbeck Hospital, but all proceeds from the sale of badges will go to Breast Cancer Care.
Ms Younger also hopes to stage another event for the charity and is already planning a sponsored walk from Pegswood to Morpeth in the spring.
