HEALTH officials are urging people to save a life by giving blood in a Morpeth donor session tomorrow.
NHS Blood and Transplant is appealing for people to come forward to help build up stocks in the run-up to winter.
Around 7,000 units of blood are needed to treat hospital patients throughout the country every day for help with cancer treatment, blood disorders, emergencies, childbirth complications or general surgery.
Donors should be over the age of 17, weigh more than 50kg (7 stone, 12lbs) and be in general good health.
The Morpeth session will be held at Storey Park Community Centre from 1.30pm to 3.45pm and from 4.30pm to 7pm.
