A TRAIN trip to London is showing benefits closer to home after raising funds for good causes.

Morpeth Round Table organises the Ladies London Train Trip every year as part of its fund-raising efforts to help out local organisations.

And as a result of last year’s trip, members were happy to hand over a £1,000 cheque to Central Palz.

The donation came after Central Palz heard about the train trip and contacted Round Table members to see if they could offer any support for its work providing palliative care services for people from Morpeth and the Wansbeck area.

The group was delighted to step in and give a share of the cash, visiting the service in Seaton Park Medical Group in Ashington to present the award.
