A WOMAN who helps Morpeth residents to lose weight scored a big 10 out of 10 from comedian Jason Manford when they met at an annual awards ceremony.
Rosene Redpath, who runs weekly Slimming World groups at Morpeth Methodist Church, was thrilled to speak with the funnyman who shot to fame on the Channel 4 panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats at the event in Birmingham.
The national organisation helps more than a million people every year to lose weight and lead healthier lives at regular sessions.
Rosene said meeting Manford was a great way to end the year and she is hoping to help even more people in 2012.
“At this time of year lots of people will be making New Year’s resolutions and pledging to lose weight, and we’d love anyone who wants to make a change to come along and join us,” she added.
“By making small easy changes to the way they shop, cook and eat, members see a big difference on the scales.
“Better yet, because members can enjoy unlimited amounts of a long list of everyday foods from fruit and veg, pasta and rice to lean meat, eggs and fat-free dairy, they never have to go hungry.”
Manford enjoyed meeting a number of inspirational people at the event.
He said: “I know keeping weight in control is a challenge for a lot of us these days and I think the people of Morpeth are very lucky to have someone who is clearly as dedicated to their members as Rosene is and to have such a great support network on their doorstep.”
