A PEGSWOOD woman is making an urgent appeal for assistance with six new-born dogs after the sudden death of their mother.
Shih tzu Bella gave birth to the puppies on January 31, but she fell ill soon afterwards and had to be put down by vets.
As a result, her owner Catherine Mather of Titchfield Terrace, with support from 19-year-old daughter Hannah, is having to work non-stop to feed and clean the youngsters and she is hoping to get some help from the public.
She said: “I noticed that Bella looked unwell after giving birth, but it was a shock when the vets said she couldn’t survive an operation. I was devastated because she was such a sweet and lovely dog.
“I see to the puppies every two hours. I mainly need towels, but anything to help me look after them would be much appreciated.”
Those who are willing to help can call her on 01670 504903.
