CAMPAIGNERS are warming up for another round in the fight to block a Morpeth housing development.
A date has now been set for an inquiry into plans by Bellway Homes to build a new estate at Loansdean.
The developer saw plans for 200 homes at the site dismissed by Northumberland County Council in February 2012 and a subsequent appeal upheld the authority’s decision.
However, Bellway challenged the ruling and another planning inspector was appointed to consider the case.
The house builder had a revised bid for 186 homes rejected by the council in September and it is also appealing that decision.
An inquiry will consider both appeals at Morpeth Town Hall over six days, beginning on Tuesday, March 18, at 10am. It will run on March 18, 19, 20, 26, 27 and 28.
South Morpeth Coalition residents’ action group will again lead the arguments against the development.
