Rail users in Northumberland have been urged to speak up to safeguard services.
Consultation is under way on the future specification for services currently operated by Northern Rail.
It includes the only trains to call at Widdrington and Acklington, as well as many services that stop at Morpeth, though East Coast and Cross Country trains are not affected.
Berwick MP Sir Alan Beith is calling on passengers to take part in the review to ensure provision is retained, and improved.
“Although station closures are not suggested or considered in this consultation, any reduction of the twice-a-day commuter service from Chathill, Widdrington and Acklington would be virtual closure and what we need is improvement in that service,” he said.
The consultation ends on Monday, August 18. To take part visit www.dft.gov.uk
