Morpeth Townswomen’s Guild

THE Morpeth Townswomen’s Guild welcomed two members of Morpeth Lions Club to talk about the history of Lions and its work.

Lions Harry Cone and President Geoff Bushell gave an overview of the organisation and Lions’ work and events, including support for charities, organisations and individuals in Morpeth and outlying areas.

They explained the Message in a Bottle scheme, whereby a person’s medical and contact details are stored in a sealed container in the home, which can be identified by emergency services.

Guild Chairman Mrs Irving Rutherford thanked them for a very interesting talk and the Lions undertook to provide Message in a Bottle kits to all members.

The Guild meets each second Thursday of the month at St Robert’s Church Hall.
