INTERNATIONAL pop superstar Jessie J is coming to Alnwick.

The Voice star is set to headline the biggest event ever held at Alnwick Pastures, on Saturday, July 21, to an expected crowd of 12,000.

With Alnwick Castle in the backdrop, the event, organised by KAL Music Limited, will establish the town as one of the UK’s major venues for outdoor summer shows.

Jessie J came to prominence after the release of her debut single, Do It Like a Dude, which peaked at number two in the UK. After scoring her first number one in the UK, France, Ireland and New Zealand with Price Tag, she released her debut album, Who You Are, which charted at number two in the UK.

She has recently made chart history as the first UK female to chart six top-10 singles from her album, Who You Are, with her latest hit Laserlight.

The release of fifth single, Domino, peaked at number six on the United States’ Billboard Hot 100 and became her second UK number one.

Jessie J is also a coach and mentor on BBC One’s The Voice UK alongside Tom Jones, Will.i.am and The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue.

She is recognised for an unconventional musical and performance style that mixes her soul voice with contemporary R&B, pop and hip-hop influences.

Keith Louch, director at KAL, said: “We are really delighted to be bringing Jessie J to Alnwick.

“She is without a doubt an international pop sensation and I am sure crowds will flock to see her.”

Patrick Scott, head of security at Northumberland Estates, said: “It is brilliant to get as big a star as Jessie J performing in Alnwick.

“It will be a major coup for the town and definitely puts us on map.”

Paul Larkin, editor of the Northumberland Gazette, added: “This concert will just add to the already bursting calendar of events we have in Alnwick this summer.

“Jessie J will attract thousands of people of all ages, establishing Alnwick as the place to be this year.”

Tickets are available from today priced at £32.50 per adult, and £22.50 per child plus a booking fee from Alnwick Playhouse on a dedicated Jessie J line – 01665 510898 – and The Maltings on 01289 330999 or online at www.seetickets.com

Gates open at 5pm, support acts from 6.30pm and headline act from 8pm.
