Appeal issued over Christmas crimes

POLICE are seeking information about three incidents in and around Morpeth over the festive holiday.

A window was damaged at Strettle’s Memorials in Castle Square sometime between 1pm on Saturday, December 22 and 12.30pm on Saturday, December 29.

Meanwhile, vandals caused £900 of damage to a car in Pegswood.

The sides and bonnet of the Skoda Octavia were scratched as it was parked up at Pegswood Industrial Estate between 4.45pm on Sunday, December 30 and 8.45am the following day.

Officers are also investigating a burglary at Car Care in Coopies Lane, which took place between 5pm on Monday, December 31 and 4.30pm on New Year’s Day.

The premises were broken into and a red Snap-on welder, worth £500, was taken.
