Cash boost puts smiles on faces

LAUGHTER will be the best medicine to ease funding headaches at a county charity.

For Age UK Northumberland will benefit to the tune of £250,000 from Comic Relief funds.

The award, which will run over three years, will help to ensure the over 50s in the county have access to essential services and will fund projects to reduce poverty among vulnerable older people, including loft clearances, benefit checks and improving insulation.

Head of Operational Services Fiona Horsman said: “The Money Go Round Project will put us in great stead to make sure that a number of services protect and help those who need it the most.”

For more information about the charity, call 01670 784846.
