Concern for churchyard

CONCERNS about a village churchyard will be discussed by councillors.

Questions have been raised by members of Widdrington Station and Stobswood Parish Council about the upkeep of the grounds at St John The Baptist Church in neighbouring Ulgham.

The council, which pays a third of the costs towards the maintenance of the churchyard, will have a meeting with church officials to discuss members’ concerns about grass cuts, sunken graves and parking arrangements.

A date for the meeting is yet to be set.
