Crash closes A1 in Northumberland

A SERIOUS crash has closed part of the A1 in Northumberland.

Police received reports of a collision near to the Swarland turn off just after 1.10pm today.

Two cars are believed to be involved and the road is closed northbound.

One carriageway in southbound has also been closed to allow for emergency services to access the scene.

Paramedics are at the scene now.
