Death of Emily’s champion

A prominent member of the team set up to commemorate Suffragette Emily Wilding Davison in Northumberland has died at the age of 76.

Former Northumberland County Council Chairman and Blyth Valley Mayor Dorothy Luke was a key part of the team that brought about the restoration of Emily’s grave at St Mary’s Church.

Mrs Luke represented Cramlington Village at the county council.
