Digging deep for more plots

MORPETH Town Council could soon be taking on a further set of allotments.

Members agreed at a full council meeting that its Finance and General Purposes Committee could use delegated powers to decide whether or not to take over responsibility for the plots in the town which are currently owned and managed by the Isos housing association.

The committee will only agree to the transfer if the terms are favourable to the authority.
