THERE were high-flyers galore on Sunday as the zip wire made its return.

The event to mark International Women’s Day is a fund-raiser for Oxfam’s Mother Appeal. It was held at Morpeth Rugby Club and nearly 100 people took the 150ft plunge.

It also included stalls and activities to make it a family fun day. The deadline for paying sponsorship is the end of March.

Organiser Emma Scott said: “We had great weather – sunny all day and little wind – and I would particularly like to thank Mayor Joan Tebbutt, Radio Northumberland, the team from Morrisons, photographer Trevor Walker and the local fire brigade for their support.”
