Drivers warned over thefts
A SPATE of thefts from unlocked cars has been reported in Morpeth.
Property was stolen from vehicles in Southgate Wood, Eglingham Way and Acomb Close between Friday, August 31 and Sunday, September 2.
A man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the thefts and some property has been recovered.
However, drivers are reminded of the importance of securing their vehicles.
Acting Morpeth Neighbourhood Inspector Sharon Wilmore-Greaves said: “An unlocked car or an insecure van is an open invitation to a thief and they can be in and out of a vehicle in seconds.”
Anyone with information about the thefts should contact police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
